MasterClass

MasterClass is a show on Oprah’s network OWN. I have seen a few of these episodes and was intrigued by the episodes of Maya Angelou, Simon Cowell, Jay Z, and Oprah. I am not sure if there are other episodes in the works but if you ever get a chance to see this show, you should.

The premise of the show is that hopefully through someone else’s life and experiences they may pass on something to you that you can walk away with and immediately find it applicable to your life. The tag of the show is “Use your life as a class”. In other words as you interact with people around you, teach.

I believe that this goes along with the book of Proverbs in the Bible. Solomon wrote Proverbs as a father to a son. Proverbs is amazingly structured so that when you read it, you can learn from Solomon’s experiences. You can apply what made him successful and you can learn from his mistakes and the mistakes of others so that you do not have to go down the same road.

Paul encourages the Corinthian church in 1 Cor. 11:1 “Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ.” Leaders lead. Step it up. Walk in faith and not by sight. Even though you have no idea where God might be leading, follow him in complete obedience. People are watching you. You have no idea who your life may affect. Live out Scripture. Apply it to your WHOLE life, not just the parts you think it should affect. How you live out Scripture may show somebody that you believe with all your being that the Bible is true, that God is all sovereign and all powerful, and Jesus is exactly who he said he was. Your decision to apply Scripture may just help somebody follow Christ because they can see the change in your life.

Teach. Use your life as a class. Be so consumed with Christ that you are evidence of what a real relationship with him looks like. May your life be lived in such a way that through God using you and the words you speak, many may come to follow Christ and trust him as Lord and Savior.
