Letter to Friends, Family, FaithPoint, and Blog Readers

Many words come to mind but none can express what we would like to say to you more than Thank you.

We had an incredible weekend, celebrating FaithPoint Community Church’s one year anniversary. Pastor Klay preached for us at a local BBQ restaurant on Saturday night and then Pastor Daniel preached our Sunday service. It was a wonderful time celebrating what God has done in one year with FaithPoint. We look forward to where he is going to take us and what he is going to do through us.
Drama showed up on Monday.
Sunday night after FaithPoint’s celebration, we came home to find out that our air conditioner had broke…again. We woke up and called the ac repair people on Monday. They came and checked it out. My wife and I are running around the house trying to make sure that we did not forget anything for out three day stay at the hospital. We had to be at the hospital at 11:00 because my wife was scheduled for a c-section delivery that day.
The ac repairman is standing in our kitchen. I slowed down enough to hear him deliver the bad news. The coils are broken and oil or some other kind of fluid was running out of the unit. We could have had the coils replaced but that would only have bought us about a year’s worth of time. The ac unit that we had already surpassed its life expectancy by about six years. We chose to go with a new unit.
We got to the hospital and the delivery went about as well as a c-section delivery can go. Luke came out and was cleaned up and then was taken to the nursery to be weighed, measured, and taken care of. I went back to check on my wife and then go back to see my new little boy.
During that short period of time he was taken to the NICU. He was not breathing well and had to be put on oxygen. After three days of being in the NICU, we were finally able to come home.
Luke is doing a lot better now. We look forward to what God is going to do with him and through him.
Thank you all for your calls, texts, tweets, Facebook wall posts, and most of all your prayers. We know that God heard your prayers and healed our little boy because of the prayers lifted up by his people.
We witnessed a Scripture come to life this week:
The second half of James 5:16 says, “The prayer of a righteous person has great power at its working.
Amen.
Thank you again for praying for our family. Our God is truly an Awesome God.
