As your pastor, I just wanted to say thank you for serving with Hilltop Baptist Church for their VBS. I cannot wait till next Sunday.

We will be continuing our study in Acts 17. Please feel free to read ahead.
Wanted to try something a little different in this letter. From time to time I may just discuss certain topics with you that can help aid you in your Bible study time.
Here is what we are talking about in this letter:

One God, Three Persons; we are discussing the Trinity.

The concept or idea of the Trinity is being attacked today. Some people do not believe in the Holy Spirit at all despite what is clearly discussed in Scripture.
In Genesis 1, the Father, Son and Spirit are all present at creation. John 1 boldly proclaims that Jesus is actually the Creator.
Again at Jesus’ baptism, the Father, Son, and Spirit are all present. The word trinity is not actually written in the Bible but the idea is clearly taught.
The Trinity is:
  • One God in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
  • Three persons acting in tri-unity
  • There are not three separate gods but there is only one God.
God is one in regards to essence.
Members of the trinity are co-equal and co-eternal with one another.
Each member of the trinity is called God specifically. There is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Each member of the trinity possesses divine attributes.
We will pick up on this discussion later.
I will be praying for you this week.
Pastor Jimmy
