Good morning Faithpoint! God is awesome!
I would like to share a couple things with you today.
1) Our new series is going to be in Genesis. The series starts February 3. The title of our new series is In The Beginning. We are going to walk through the book of Genesis and look at God as Creator, man’s rebellious heart, God’s providence, God as provider, and we will see that through all the events and history in Genesis, nothing ever takes God by surprise but God is always in control.
2) One of the saddest verses in the Bible is Matthew 15:7-8. Jesus is speaking and says this,
You hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, when he said:
“‘This people honors me with their lips,
but their heart is far from me;
(Matthew 15:7-8 ESV)
My prayer is that this would not be said of us. Worship should come from the overflow of joy that is birthed out of a relationship with Jesus. There should be a tidal wave of praise that comes from our lips because we are compelled to worship, lift up, and glorify Jesus. Worship is an action that comes from an unbridled, untamed, unashamed love of Jesus. When you sing praise, it should be more than just words on a screen. Those words should resonate with the Spirit that is in you. If they do not, it is not the song, it is you.
Too often we are “worried” about the people around us in a service. We care more about what people will think of us if we lift our hands, sing out loud, or close our eyes.
This is not worship.
Worship should be about your passion, devotion, and love for Jesus. He is not ashamed of you. May you not be ashamed of Him.
I love this video. I hope you find it encouraging. May it start a fire within you.
