Proverbs 31 Challenge

Proverbs_16x9_580How are you doing on your journey? Have you hit some bumps in the road? Have you had some obstacles in your path that you did not realize were there?

Your mission if you choose to accept it…

I want to encourage you to not give up. This is not the time to tap out or throw in the towel. We have crossed over the top of the hill. We are seven months in to our journey this year. That means that this 365 day journey is more than half over. The train is still going.

Through the month of July, I would like you to join me in reading through the book of Proverbs everyday in the month of July. I would love to know what you gain from your reading. What insight is God giving you about your spiritual walk? How has reading through Proverbs strengthened your faith?

To do that, I am inviting you to connect me with on my new page on Facebook.

Let’s engage the book of Proverbs together. It doesn’t matter if you have read it before or if this is your first time. You will gain wisdom and application as you read through this wonderful book.

I believe that reading daily in the Bible will change your life and your heart. I am praying that at the end of the 31 days, you will not be the same person that you are right now.

The Bible says that we have the mind of Christ. There is only one way to get this. To truly have the mind of Christ, you have to think in the same way that Christ would think. This involves a remapping of your mind.

Romans 12 says that we are to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. This transformation can only take place when we place ourselves in submission to the Holy Word of God. It is the Holy Spirit that uses the application of Scripture to renew our minds.

Why are we doing this challenge in July?

We are on a journey. While some people use the summer to take a break and check out, we are going full blast. We are not giving up and we are not using the summer as an excuse to take a break from our spiritual journey.

Let’s celebrate the goodness, the holiness, the glory and the majesty of our Heavenly Father. So, while we are enjoying family and friends, eating burgers, playing outside, going on vacations, and swimming in the lake, let’s not neglect the precious time that we can have when we get alone with our Creator.

God has so graciously given us His Word. Like a dad who desires to spend time with His children, opening the Bible is like crawling up into the lap of your Abba (Father) and listening as He speaks you as a dad lovingly speaks to His children.

You can do this.

If you accept the challenge, please let me know by heading over to my Facebook page and leaving a comment.

I look forward to what God is going to do in us in the next 31 days.
