FaithPoint News

FaithPoint Logo 1Greetings FaithPoint!

Here is one announcement for you: FaithPoint Men, we will be in chapter 2 of our book this coming Sunday. I look forward to seeing you this Sunday at 9:00 am at McDonald’s.

My family and I had a good weekend in Atlanta and had fun times with our friends but it is really good to be back with you.

Tonight, we will be watching a video on discipleship. This is an important topic and one that is very important to me. I strongly believe that all of us are to grow up and become mature disciples. We are not created to do this life alone.

If you would like to watch the video before our Wednesday gathering, please head over to my new Facebook page and scroll down. If you have not already done so, I encourage you to like the new page so that you can get all of my updates, blog posts, and sermon notes. You can find the link to my new page at the end of this post.

I was encouraged to read some of the responses to the sermon that Pastor James preached on Sunday. Pastor James, used Batman as the illustration and how Batman does not like to be a part of a team. Batman has always been a lone ranger and believes that he can do everything himself. That is not how God designed us to live life.

James 4:2 and 3 says, “You do not have, because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions.”

If you know me well, you know that I believe in praying Scripture. I am currently praying these verses because when I go to God to ask for something, I want my heart and motives to be right. I don’t want to approach our Heavenly Father with selfish motives.

I am not going to make an announcement on Sunday about this but I would like to share with you here, on my blog, what I am currently praying for. If you would like to, you can join me in praying for these things also.

Here are a few things that I am praying for:

  • An acoustic guitarist and a keyboardist for FaithPoint. I believe that live music is better than YouTube
  • I am praying for a specific building for FaithPoint. I am not going to tell you which one but having a building would be beneficial to FaithPoint. All of our services, ministries, conferences, offices, missions and other things would take place here. It would also be the headquarters for launching other church plants.
  • I am praying for FaithPoint to be generous, bold and courageous, and grow up in Christ to become mature disciples.

This coming Sunday, we will be continuing in our Heroes series.

We will be in week 8 of our series. This week: Anger is a choice.

I am excited about Sunday. I cannot wait!

I Love Our Church!

Pastor Jimmy
